Ram Dass remembers the first time he met his Guru. And how his Guru knew that the night before Ram Dass was standing under the stars and thinking about his mother who had just died an year ago. His Guru also knew how and when she died. Ram Dass broke down not just by the mere miracle of how his Guru knew everything about him without Ram Dass saying a word, but he felt like he was finally home.
It got me thinking this Guru, this all knowing entity, who knows my fears, my regrets, my suffering, my bare heart, from whom no secret can be kept, this know it all is right here in me. As soon as I shed light on this Guru, I bring my awareness to this teacher who is my higher evolved and conscious self, who witnesses me without judgement, who has compassion and love for me no matter what, and here I find my belongingness to the sacred. I surrender to this higher power that is in me, that is me. And I find that, I am too, home.
“I remember my first visit with my guru. He had shown that he read my mind. So I looked at the grass and I thought, ‘My god, he’s going to know all the things I don’t want people to know.’ I was really embarrassed. Then I looked up and he was looking directly at me with unconditional love.” Ram Dass
